Literacy Learning from Home

There are a couple of choices for families to access picture book reading online from home. We thought we'd provide the links below.

Story Line Online

It's a site sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild and features celebrities, both young and old, reading popular picture books. There are numerous options to download scripts and activities.

Bookflix

This site has been approved by the school board. Numerous activities for readers. The user name is 'hpedsb' and the password is 'bookflix'. Enjoy the site!

Also, you may have wished to access the Premier Software from home. It's available below:

Premier

The user name is 'hpedsb' and the password is 'family'.

We hope these will give you some options to enhance student learning and literacy from home.

Volunteering at YRPS

We would like to invite family members to consider assisting at York River Public School from time to time.  We value the work of volunteers, as we have many students who benefit from the extra help received both in and out of the school setting.  We must ensure the safety of all students, as you know.  Board policy requires that volunteers have an updated police record check.  Volunteers with police checks on file in the office are asked to drop in and sign an Offence Declaration Form to update our records.

The following forms can be downloaded for your convenience:

Thanks for considering spending your free hours with our students!
