This year, the Kindergarten class is celebrating Chinese New Year. To start our celebration, a Wishing Tree was placed in the front foyer. The Chinese New Year tradition of the 'Wishing Tree' began hundreds of years ago in Hong Kong. People would travel to the ancient Banyan trees to make their wishes. People write a wish and tie it to an orange with beautiful ribbons. The oranges are thrown up into the tree. If the wish hangs from the branches and gets stuck in the tree, it is believed that the wish will come true. All students were encouraged to write a wish and hang it up on the tree. We hope that all of our wishes come true.
